There is nothing quite like riding a horse. How can you describe saddling a storm cloud, a wave, an earthquake? As you sit atop the mountain of muscle, you know the horse could destroy you with a flick of its foot; as master this mighty creature bears you upon its back, and what’s more, it responds to your directions and commands.
Your horseback experience begins at a horse farm close to the Cornwall Inn, where under careful supervision and guidance of a stable instructor, you tack your mount, walk the horse out to the ring, and mount. You are then given a riding lesson and ride in the ring, where you can understand for yourself what it’s like to become one with the horse. You then ride back to the stables, where you will untack your horse, hose it down, brush it, and return it to its stall.
Many people have never ridden a horse simply because they haven’t had the opportunity. This hands-on encounter gives our guests a more complete and connected experience with these magnificent animals. This is not just for those with prior riding experience either. Most of our guests have never even touched a horse, much less cleaned, mounted and ridden one. We have created this horseback experience at the Cornwall Inn Bed and Breakfast in order to provide you with an opportunity to understand an animal that has inspired poetry, story and legend throughout the ages.
